How Estimates Work

Every estimate follows a lifecycle from creation through conversion:

  1. Draft — create and edit your estimate until it’s ready to share
  2. Sent — share the estimate with your customer via link or email
  3. Accepted — the customer approves the estimate through the portal or you mark it accepted manually
  4. Rejected — the customer declines the estimate
  5. Expired — the estimate passes its expiry date without a response
  6. Converted — the accepted estimate has been converted into an invoice

Estimates start as a Draft where you can freely edit them. Once you share or email the estimate, it moves to Sent. Your customer can then Accept or Reject it through the Customer Approval Portal. If you set an expiry date and it passes without a response, the estimate becomes Expired. Finally, when you convert an accepted estimate into an invoice, it’s marked as Converted.
