Disconnecting QuickBooks

You can disconnect QuickBooks at any time. Your data in both Service Invoice Pro and QuickBooks is preserved.

How to Disconnect

  1. Go to Settings > Integrations > QuickBooks.
  2. Click Disconnect.
  3. Confirm in the dialog.

What Happens When You Disconnect

  • All automatic syncing stops immediately. No more data is pushed to or pulled from QuickBooks.
  • OAuth tokens are revoked with Intuit, so Service Invoice Pro can no longer access your QuickBooks account.
  • QuickBooks link IDs are cleared from all SIP records — customers, invoices, payments, service items, and timesheet entries lose their QB reference IDs.
  • Employee mappings are deleted — team member to QB employee links are removed.
  • Payment method mappings are deleted — custom method name mappings are removed.

What Is NOT Deleted

  • Your data in Service Invoice Pro stays intact. All invoices, customers, payments, and other records remain exactly as they are. Only the QB reference IDs are cleared.
  • Your data in QuickBooks stays intact. Customers, invoices, payments, and other records that were previously synced remain in QuickBooks. Nothing is deleted from QB.

Reconnecting Later

You can reconnect QuickBooks at any time by clicking Connect to QuickBooks Online.

  • Same QuickBooks company: Data re-links automatically as it syncs. For example, when a customer syncs, SIP searches QB for a match by name before creating a new record.
  • Different QuickBooks company: You start fresh with new mappings. Set up Account Mapping and Employee Mapping for the new company, and optionally import data from it.

After reconnecting, default Payment Method Mappings are re-created automatically.

When to Disconnect

  • Switching QuickBooks companies — disconnect from the old company, then connect to the new one.
  • No longer need the integration — disconnect to stop syncing. You can always reconnect later.
  • Troubleshooting persistent sync errors — sometimes disconnecting and reconnecting resolves token or connection issues.
