Getting Started

Service Invoice Pro helps you create professional invoices, track jobs, and get paid — all from one place. It’s built for service businesses like landscaping, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and cleaning companies.

Whether you’re switching from pen and paper or coming from another tool, you can be up and running in about 15 minutes.

How It Works

The core workflow is simple:

  1. Add a customer — the person or company you’re doing work for.
  2. Create a job — the work you’re doing, with dates and a dollar value.
  3. Send an invoice — bill the customer for the job.
  4. Get paid — your customer pays online or you record an offline payment.

You can also send estimates before starting work, track expenses against jobs, and set up recurring invoices for repeat customers. But the basics above are all you need to get started.

Your First 15 Minutes

Here’s what to do after signing up:

  1. Complete the onboarding wizard — set your business name, upload your logo, and add your first customer.
  2. Set your default tax rate — go to Settings → Invoice Settings and enter your tax rate so every invoice uses it automatically.
  3. Create your first invoice — click New Invoice on the dashboard, add your line items, and save.
  4. Share it with your customer — copy the invoice link and text it to them, or email it directly (Pro).
  5. Connect online payments (Pro) — go to Settings → Payments to connect Stripe so customers can pay you by credit card or bank transfer.

Free vs Pro

Free is great for creating and tracking invoices. You get full invoicing with line items, tax, and discounts. You can share invoice links, download PDFs, and mark invoices as paid when you get cash or a check.

Pro ($19/month) is worth it the moment you want to get paid online or stop chasing late payments. Pro adds credit card and ACH payments, automatic payment reminders, recurring invoices, estimates with customer approval, expense tracking, team management, and more.
