Recurring Tasks
Automate repetitive work by creating tasks that repeat on a schedule. Recurring tasks are automatically generated so nothing falls through the cracks.
Creating a Recurring Task
- Go to Tasks and click Add Task.
- Fill in the task details as usual (title, priority, assignee).
- Toggle Recurring on.
- Choose a frequency:
- Daily — a new task every day
- Weekly — a new task every week on a specific day
- Biweekly — a new task every two weeks
- Monthly — a new task on a specific day each month
- Quarterly — a new task every three months
- Click Save.
How Recurring Tasks Work
When a recurring task is created, the system automatically generates the next occurrence based on the frequency you set. Each generated task is a standalone task that can be completed, reassigned, or modified independently.
New occurrences are generated automatically — you don’t need to manually create each one.
Auto-Assignment
Recurring tasks keep the same assignee for each occurrence. If you assigned the original task to a team member, every generated task will also be assigned to them.
To change the assignee for future occurrences, edit the recurring task template.
Examples
Common uses for recurring tasks:
- Weekly equipment inspection — check mowers and trimmers every Monday
- Monthly supply ordering — restock materials on the 1st of each month
- Daily shop cleanup — end-of-day cleanup every workday
- Quarterly vehicle maintenance — oil changes and inspections every 3 months
Managing Recurring Tasks
To stop a recurring task from generating new occurrences, open the task and toggle Recurring off. Previously generated tasks are not affected — only future occurrences stop.
To change the frequency, edit the recurring task and select a new schedule.
