Creating Jobs
Create a job to start tracking a project for a customer.
How to Create a Job
- Click Jobs in the sidebar.
- Click New Job.
- Fill in the job details and click Create Job.
Job Fields
| Field | Required | Description |
|---|---|---|
| Customer | Yes | Select an existing customer or create a new one |
| Job Name | Yes | A short name for the project (e.g., “Spring Cleanup - Smith”) |
| Description | No | Detailed notes about the scope of work |
| Service Address | No | Where the work is being performed (if different from customer address) |
| Contract Total | No | The total value of the job in dollars — used for billing progress tracking |
| Status | Yes | Active, Completed, or Cancelled (defaults to Active) |
Scheduling Fields
Add dates to make the job appear on the calendar:
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| Start Date | When the job starts — can be a date only (all-day) or include a specific time |
| End Date | When the job ends |
| Duration | Quick-set the end time: 30 min, 1 hr, 2 hr, 4 hr, 8 hr, or Custom |
| All Day | Toggle on for jobs that span full days without specific times |
When you add a start date, the job appears on the calendar. Jobs without dates are still tracked in the job list but won’t show on the calendar.
Team Assignment
On a Pro plan, you can assign one or more team members to a job. Assigned members see the job on their calendar and can be filtered in the calendar view.
Select team members from the Assign Team Members dropdown on the job form.
Tips
- Set a contract total to track billing progress — the job detail page shows how much has been invoiced vs. remaining.
- Use the duration dropdown for quick scheduling instead of manually calculating end times.
- You can also create jobs directly from the calendar by clicking or selecting a date range.
