Overtime Tracking
Service Invoice Pro automatically calculates overtime based on daily and weekly hour thresholds.
How Overtime Works
Overtime is calculated using two rules:
- Daily overtime — hours beyond 8 in a single day
- Weekly overtime — hours beyond 40 in a single week
When a team member exceeds either threshold, the excess hours are flagged as overtime in reports.
Where Overtime Appears
Overtime hours are highlighted in:
- Timesheet detail view — daily entries show regular vs. overtime breakdown
- Overtime Summary report — dedicated report showing OT hours and costs per team member
- Labor Cost report — OT hours are multiplied by the member’s overtime rate
Overtime and Hourly Rates
Overtime cost calculations use the team member’s hourly rate set in Hourly Rates. The standard overtime multiplier is 1.5x (time and a half).
If a team member’s hourly rate is $25/hour:
- Regular hours: $25/hour
- Overtime hours: $37.50/hour (1.5x)
Tips
- Monitor overtime weekly using the Overtime Summary report to control labor costs.
- Set per-member hourly rates in Settings > Hourly Rates for accurate cost calculations.
