Hourly Rates
Set hourly rates for each team member to power labor cost calculations in timesheets and job profitability reports.
Setting Hourly Rates
- Go to Settings and find the Hourly Rates section.
- Each team member is listed with their current hourly rate.
- Enter or update the hourly rate for each team member.
- Click Save.
Hourly rates are used internally for cost calculations — they are not visible to team members or customers.
How Hourly Rates Are Used
Hourly rates feed into several areas of the app:
- Timesheet reports — the Labor Cost report multiplies hours worked by hourly rate to calculate labor costs per member, per job, and per time period.
- Job profitability — when a job has timesheet entries, the labor cost (hours x rate) is compared against the job’s revenue to show profit margins.
- Overtime calculations — overtime hours are calculated at 1.5x the base hourly rate in cost reports.
Tips
- Update rates when they change — if you give a team member a raise, update their hourly rate so reports stay accurate.
- Use realistic rates — include the full cost of employment (not just the wage) for more accurate job profitability numbers.
